The examiners smiled and nodded as she played through each piece, their faces a blur of encouragement and interest. When it was all over, Emma felt a sense of pride and relief. She had done it! She had played her heart out, and she knew she had given it her all.
As a young piano enthusiast, Emma had been taking lessons for a few years and was now preparing for her ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) Piano Exam, Grade 1. Her teacher, Mrs. Jenkins, had given her a list of pieces to learn, and Emma was determined to master them.
