Yes, seriously. The left pedal (marked “L”) tightens counter-clockwise. If you force it clockwise, you’ll strip the crank arm in seconds. That is a $60 mistake.

The manual says “adjust for wobble.” What it doesn’t say: spin the feet all the way in first, set the bike down, then adjust each one until it grips the floor. Do it under load (sit on the bike).

To reset the ODO: Hold down the “MODE” button for 8 seconds. The manual conveniently hides this on page 9. “It squeaks when I pedal.” It’s not the bike – it’s the pedal threads. Remove pedals, add a drop of bike chain oil or WD-40 to the threads, reinstall correctly. 90% fix rate.

Turn the tension knob all the way to “max,” then back to “min.” The felt pad may have shifted during shipping. Do this 3-4 times to re-seat it.
