Here’s a useful, practical post for anyone still using a BlackBerry running OS 7.1 or earlier. If you’re still using a BlackBerry with OS 7.1, 6.0, or 5.0—perhaps a Bold 9900, Curve 9320, or Torch 9810—you already know that modern syncing (cloud, USB-C, etc.) isn’t an option. BlackBerry Desktop Software (BDS) is still your essential tool for backups, media transfers, loading apps, and syncing calendars/contacts.
Open BDS → Device → Back up → choose “Full backup” (not quick). Save the .ipd somewhere safe (and a copy to cloud/another drive).
