Place the Detectomat 3004 in a central location of your home—the hallway is ideal. Do not place near windows (external hope interferes with calibration) or directly above your bed (the 3:00 AM false-positive rate is not a bug, but a feature we call “Existential Clarity Mode”).
Plug in the device. The LED will flash (baseline anxiety), then Yellow (mild unease), and finally settle into a pulsing Amber (low-grade, unshakable dread). This is the factory default. It is working perfectly. Detectomat 3004 User Manual
The Detectomat 3004 requires little maintenance. Once a month, wipe the sensor lens with a microfiber cloth. Do not use ammonia-based cleaners, as they strip the “persistent unease” coating. Place the Detectomat 3004 in a central location
If the device becomes too loud, you may place it inside a drawer for up to 20 minutes. This is called “Avoidance.” The manual does not endorse it, but the manual also does not sleep well. The LED will flash (baseline anxiety), then Yellow
Section 1: Introduction & Unboxing
Problem: The device is silent. I feel calm. This is known as the “Calm Before” error. Gently tap the side of the unit. It will recall a minor work email from two weeks ago that you forgot to reply to. Normal anxiety will resume.
The Detectomat 3004 comes with a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects. It does not come with a warranty against being right.
