If you’ve been diving into the world of Android emulation, you’ve probably conquered PlayStation 2 (AetherSX2), GameCube (Dolphin), and even Nintendo Switch (Yuzu/Egg NS). Naturally, the next question is: Can I run a PS3 BIOS file on my Android phone?
On PC, the popular PS3 emulator needs the official PS3 firmware (often called PS3UPDAT.PUP ), not a “BIOS.” This firmware contains the PS3’s system software, including the XMB menu and core libraries. The Real Issue: No PS3 Emulator for Android Here’s the hard truth: There is no working PS3 emulator for Android.
The short answer is —but let’s break down why, what people are actually searching for, and how to play PS3 games on Android (if at all). What is a PS3 BIOS File? First, a quick clarification. Unlike the PlayStation 1 or PlayStation 2, the PlayStation 3 does not require a separate BIOS file for emulation. The PS3’s operating system and low-level system files are built directly into the emulator.
Save your storage space and avoid sketchy downloads. If you want PS3 games on your phone, stick with PS Remote Play or PlayStation Plus. For now, the PS3 remains the final frontier of Android emulation—still out of reach. Have you tried any “PS3 emulator” apps on Android? Share your experience (or warning) in the comments below!

The FLR project has been developing and providing fishery scientists with a powerful and flexible platform for quantitative fisheries science based on the R statistical language. The guiding principles of FLR are openness, through community involvement and the open source ethos, flexibility, through a design that does not constraint the user to a given paradigm, and extendibility, by the provision of tools that are ready to be personalized and adapted. The main aim is to generalize the use of good quality, open source, flexible software in all areas of quantitative fisheries research and management advice.
Development code for FLR packages is available both on Github and on R-Universe. Bugs can be reported on Github as well as suggestions for further development.
